Good cheering voice. Swimmers can hear in the water. The louder the crowd, the more exciting their swim! Cheer on all swimmers!

Pool location: Home meets are at the same pool we practice at. Away pools will be posted on the Swimtopia page.

Warm ups: Please arrive at the pool on time for all meets. When we are home team, our arrival time is 4:45pm to allow visitors time to travel. For away meets, we arrive by 5:15pm. If you need to be late, please let the coach know in advance.

Sportsmanship: Indigo Park Stingrays should always be known for our sportsmanship. Please set the example to our swimmers and congratulate the winners no matter the team. Help coach your children to shake hands and congratulate the other swimmers regardless of team. Have fun and enjoy!

Points / Ribbons: For each event, each team will have two swimmers racing for points and placement of 1st through 4th. This is to allow small and large teams to swim fairly against each other. This is chosen and set in advance by the coach. Additional swimmers will swim exhibition to gain times and experience and will not earn points or placement, but will receive a participation ribbons. Please be respectful when we are visitors and bring concerns tactfully to our Coach at an appropriate time.

Register for a meet

With summer comes family travel plans and we understand it may not be possible to make every swim meet. To be able to accurately track which swimmers will be available for meets, parents are requested to log-in online and indicate whether or not your child will be attending each upcoming meet on the Sign up Calendar

You may also sign up for volunteer shifts at this time as well.

How to Register for Jobs and Swims at a Meet:

Log In to the Swimtopia Website.

Sign on to your account. If you can’t remember your password, click "Forgot your password" to reset your password.

Under the Calendar & Meets tab select "Sign-up Calendar" to sign-up for a swim meet.

Job Sign-up

  • Click the green JOB SIGNUP tab and sign up for volunteer shifts (note one parent may sign in both parents to save time of registering, scroll down and you’ll see the other parent listed). If you know you and your spouse will not be at this meet, skip to Swimmer Sign-up.
  • Click Save Assignments.
  • Click Back to Sign-up Calendar.

Swimmer Sign-up

  • Click the green MEET ENTRY tab, and then click the green Edit tab under your swimmers' names.
  • For each of your swimmers, select an option from the drop down next to their names: either Attending or Not Attending
  • You will be asked if your swimmer is available to swim in relays.
  • Click Save to record your choices.

IMPORTANT: Please note, if your swimmer is late to warm-ups, your swimmer may be removed from any relays they may have been previously signed up for. Your coach MUST know if you will be late to the meet and what time to expect you.

If your swimmer will NOT be at the Meet, it is very important to note "Will not be attending this meet" as that helps us know who has not signed up that is still attending vs. those not attending.

What is all this arm marking?

You will see swimmers with their arms marked up to show which event, heat and lane they are racing. This is used to help remind the swimmer of their events as well as assist the parent volunteers.

Clerk of Course and other parent helpers, usually write on the 8 and younger swimmers, older swimmers can find their event information posted on the Athlete Check-in and do it themselves.

Example:

#12 1/3 25m Free
#22 1/3 25m Breast
#44 1/3 25m Fly
#56 1/3 200m Free Relay A (1)

The above would be written on the arm as below. Writing relays is optional as the coaches will place all swimmers in the correct place.

E= Event number , H = Heat number, L = Lane number

Stroke:
- FR = Freestyle
- BA = Back Stroke
- BR = Breast Stroke
- FLY = Butterfly
- IM = Individual Medley
- FRR = Free Relay (All swimmers swim freestyle)
- MR = Medley Relay (Each swimmer swims a different stroke: 1st = back, 2nd=breast, 3rd=fly, 4th=free)
